Sister Love

Charly is starting to love her little sister Brynn, though some days I think Brynn gets a little more love than she wants from her.
I was actually taking pictures of Brynn and Charly wanted to be in them too.
Charly got pretty upset when Brynn got to be in the stroller and she didn't, but she was consoled when she could push the stroller instead.  Now she loves to push Brynn in her stroller.
When I was doing the girls laundry Charly kept taking away Brynn's clothes, when I finished putting Charly's clothes away I came out to find that Charly had piled all of Brynn's clothes right on top of her.
Here is Charly giving Brynn a kiss, she always has to do this before she goes to bed.  She now gives Brynn hugs too but to Brynn those seem like someone jumping on top of her while she is trying to sleep.

Sandia Peak

We decided to take the tram up to Sandia Peak while my mom was here and Brad had a day off.  We had to show off some more of Albuquerque to my mom than the local parks (she would take Charly to a park almost everyday).  The view from the tram and the top of the mountain is gorgeous and it was only a 1/2 hour dive to get there from our house, we love the west!  The girls did great on the outing and Brad decided he wants to both hike and mountain bike this mountain (too bad his mountain bike is still siting in the basement of Chambers).

Hello Brynn!

Someone decided that they wanted to come early.  Brynn Hazel Roberts was born July 16th, 2012 at 12:24pm (as a successful VBAC!).  Weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and 19 3/4 in. And she is definitely going to be a Daddy's girl.

What is up with BLUE?

I have nothing against the color blue, actually it happens to be my favorite color and the color of my alma mater.  But who picks it to color the walls in their house?  The last two places we have lived have come with blue walls, and not a light blue, true blue.  This one was at least in the bedroom and could have been livable if we had a little boy, but we don't, so GOODBYE BLUE WALLS! Sorry Brad looks like we are going grey walls with lots of pastel pink in the room.

Pool Time

Yes it has been hot here.  I finally got a pool so that we can at least cool down in the backyard in the afternoons.  Luckily June is supposed to be the hottest month here, unlucky for me though is that I am still prego.

Apricot Jam

So our new neighbor offered us some apricots from his apricot tree, when he brought them by he brought us a whole bag full of apricots.  As I was looking up recipes with apricots I decided that I would do my first try at canning (meaning first try ever).  I have always heard that jams where easy, and lets face it with Brad now started and no neighbors to socialize with all day I have lots of free time during Charly's nap.  So I went ahead and took the plunge.
Here are the apricots that I started out with
Here they are after soaking in sugar for 2 hours as I start to cook them
And here they are in the jars that luckily sealed (I was afraid they wouldn't for a while)
And here is Charly's approval

Hiking New Mexico

Even though I am 8 months pregnant and Charly is 17 months we have been trying to get in as much hiking as we can here before Charly is too big for the backpack and we also have a newborn.  We found out that you can get to the trails on the Sandia Mountains (just to the east of Albuquerque) in 20-30 minuets from our house.  We also found a beautiful green getaway spot hiding in the middle of the dessert that is about a 2 hour drive (but definitely worth it). We definitely have been missing this kind of hiking!
This hike started out pretty steep, but luckily there were some trees to shade the trail.
Charly taking a break.
With all the work Brad was doing Charly decided to take a nap.
Yes we did see a lot of cactus.

This is awesome!
Charly feel asleep again...
We hiked to these hot springs that were really pretty, we stuck our feet in and had tons of little minnows swimming around our toes, next time though we need to bring our swimsuits.
